In students activism as in students politics, it is the duty of the activist to investigate, appraise and apprise congress or the student electorate on parading candidates and who should be given the mandate of the people. Activism is not neutrality. It is very necessary and wise for the activist to recommend for the approval or disapproval of the candidature of some persons aspiring to lead especially any union of academia (e.g National Service Personnel Association, NASPA). Stay with me as I journey with you along the lines to identify why or why not Kwame Owusu Bampoe (Hon. KOB), an aspiring Presidential candidate of NASPA-National.
Brief Profile of KOB:
Kwame Owusu Bampoe, Hon. KOB as we all may have been familiar with, is undoubtedly a dynamic and passionate young leader with a vision of contributing positively to the development of his society. Presently, KOB is the President of NASPA-Ashanti. Aside serving the nation as a service personnel, he has had stints as a Radio Presenter, Marketer and Panelist with several media stations in Kumasi including Ashh FM, Sikka FM and Royal TV. KOB holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UCC and an HND (Accountancy) from the Kumasi Technical University. He is also the Head of Communication Team for Dr. Emmanuel Marfo (Member of Parliament, Oforikrom Constituency). KOB worships with the Kent Center of the Bompata PIWC where he serves as a deacon of the Church of Pentecost.
Human Relations of KOB:
Human relations is as a matter of fact a backbone of any political society. Any one could be named a leader. Nonetheless, the mysticism of being a leader lays in the strength of the masses. Who is a leader without followers? KOB as we all can attest to reality has all the positive human relations necessary for societal growth. One special thing about Kwame Owusu Bampoe (Hon. KOB) is his ability to bring together every individual, whether that person is for him or against him. He is a man of great attitude. I love him any time he says "Let our relationship transcend beyond politics. I want you to be a brother". If I had a voice in NASPA, I would not hesitate a second encouraging all delegates and observers alike to rally behind Kwame Owusu Bampoe (Hon. KOB). There is no doubt this is the gentleman NASPA needs as National President of the association at this point in time when the association is suffocating to death.
KOB's Vision for NASPA:
A leader without vision is no leader at all. Malcolm X defines this as "A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything". His vision for NASPA, for which reasons he seeks to lead NASPA-National are clearly outlined as; Working in collaboration with the scheme at various regions to secure regional NASPA offices, Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Programs, Creation of the NASPA APP as a database for easing the stress of service personnel, NASPA National Unity Games, Networking & Promotion of NSP Welfare, Enhancing Communication & Conducive Working Relations, NASPA in the Community Transformation Agenda and last but not least, the NSP Start-up Loan Program.
Weakness and Strengths of KOB.
Kwame Owusu Bampoe (Hon. KOB) is a man of many parts. Nonetheless, he also has a weakness. His major weakness is over trust. His too much trust for human is one that has always met him with betrayal. Anyway any how this may seem, his continued effort to still bring to himself those same people who have betrayed him is marvelling. On his strengths, KOB's behavioral attributes are worth respect. His love for humanity and his sense of humor are equally worth mentioning. I believe strongly that, it is on these very makeup that he has continually been the friend of all. Undoubtedly, KOB is a man with network and great human relations. His appearance to the scene of NASPA is as timely as the ushering in of Ghana into a 4th Republic.
Conclusion & Recommendation:
KOB, if given the mandate to serve as NASPA-National President means that, the association will be at peace, there will be harmony and the respect so required to deliver on the dreams of the people shall be held in high esteem. Surely, KOB cannot and shall not fail the masses. Simply put, KOB is the only man you can trust as NASPA-National President. Standing on the foundation so laid above, I recommend Kwame Owusu Bampoe (Hon. KOB) to all and sundry to endorse his aspiration to becoming the next NASPA-National President.
