THE ILLUSIONS OF YESTERDAY, A LIFE PALSY-WALSY. by Selina Cofie✍🏾

A reflection over our yesterday gives us a picture of a world of perfection where everyone got along and anyone could do and be anything. Our thoughts seemed to us that, what we visualised is what reality became and the easiest way to live life was what we presumed it to be. Growing up we found out that real life is a little more complicated. Maybe, we could describe our yesterday's illusions as a life palsy-walsy. Indeed, it was a life which seemed very friendly in a way but to the end we realised it is not an exhibition of sincerity.

Real life is muddy, full of disappointments and betrayals. A life where men do not get what they want until there is a struggle. On the journey of this struggle we encounter series of knocking downs which include but not limited to mistakes being made, disappointments from people we thought were our rocks of help, frustrations and demoralizing acts from friends alike. All these were never part of our thoughts of yesterday up until we encountered them in our today. Shall our tomorrow act same or be our panacea?

The more we tried to understand one another, the harder it became to gain this understanding because we continually live in a life of exceptional beings. Anyway anyhow it may seem, we have to try to understand this gnomic life. Considering our yesterday and today we can prognosticate a better place of a world where we look inside ourselves, recognizing what change we need and making it happen. However, that change starts with me! It starts with you and it starts with all of us. Change is an inevitable part of the human race. Anyone who is scared of change is actually scared of success and is comfortable with failure. In any case, we must not forget that the illusions of yesterday are a life palsy-walsy.
