THE ONLY WAY MICHEAL AGYEI MENSAH (NETWORK) WILL NOT WIN AS NUGS PRESIDENT-YOU ARE A FACTOR By Reindolf Amankwa
My analysis of the candidates who in times past had the opportunity to see a runoff race in our usual SRC/NUGS elections in UDS Wa campus but couldn't make the mark of victory though they took lead in the first polls is mainly the reason to which this short but insightful piece is written. However, this piece shall highlight on just Michael Agyei Mensah (Network), the favorite NUGS aspirant who by love of the people took a greater lead in the first polls.
If Network doesn't win today as NUGS President, then, it will depend on that same factor which has by history been the very cause of other same aspirants who took lead at first polls. Lest I forget to mention that one Nicholas Amoah/Naa Braimah Lambert and another Mohammed Jarah/Solomon Nartey could break this obstacle. Notwithstanding, historical facts may repeat itself this year and may take trend again in the future ahead.
In the past, the aspirants who took lead couldn't win at runoff because their supporters refused to come out and vote. They were too sure of their candidate's victory so much so that, they thought even without them coming out to vote their candidate will still win. What a lowly thought! Maybe they forgot to ask themselves who will vote for their candidate if they didn't come out to vote. On the other hand, the followers of the seemingly losing candidate also knew their candidate will not win if they do not come out to vote. Even with that, some could think that "okay my candidate will not win but at least he shouldn't lose poorly so let me go and help." With this thought of the losing house, the candidate is able to cover such a margin and overpass the complacent winning team in that, the game finally turns over. At the end, the one whose followers thought they had already won go back home in tears. The end of the matter is decided by those who were not complacent but looked up to a final count of ballot.
From the above, we will agree that this has always been the true reflection of the UDS Wa campus runoff elections. Today I can be so sure that Michael Agyei Mensah (Network) will be declared the NUGS President elect of UDS Wa campus by end of polls. This will be overturned on the one condition that, those who went out to vote for him in the first polls will grow complacent and feel reluctant in going to vote. If the numbers of Network drops evenly by ten (10) votes, Michael Agyei Mensah (Network) will not win. Ending, though I spoke on NUGS, the analysis stands tall in SRC and the facts cannot be overturned.
