NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL ASSOCIATION OF THE ATWIMA-NWABIAGYA DISTRICT IN THE ASHANTI REGION DONATES TO THE NKONTENG COMMUNITY.
The National Service Personnel Association(NASPA) of the Atwima-Nwabiagya district in the Ashanti region, on the 14th day of February made a heart touching donation to the Nkonteng community school. The Nkonteng community is a deprived community in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district whose capital is Nkawie.
As part of playing a core part in the development of communities in Ghana, these service personnel notwithstanding their meagre amount of service allowances still chose out of goodwill to give back to society both in kind and cash. Speaking with the President of the district in question, who was also the leader of the team of donors, he said "the building of societies to meet modern day development and standards must begin with the haves in those societies willing, ready and able to support the haves to come to the height of that standard." Adding, he mentioned that, "the National Service Personnel of the Atwima-Nwabiagya district whose capital is Nkawie are ever willing and ready to give out excessively to society especially to children so as to see all children of school going age in the Nkawie district successfully enrolled in school." On this he ended by saying that, his administration is poised for action especially on matters of the acquisition of formal education by children who live in the district where they serve as service persons.
The Nkonteng community school as earlier stated is a deprived school lacking so many items and facilities. The lack and inadequacy of facilities and human resources respectively that are worth and necessary for the effective and efficient administration of the school have rendered the school stagnant in educational progress. The headmaster, Mr. Collins and the Circuit Supervisor in charge of the Nkonteng community school Mr. Boampong used the opportunity to thank the donors, pledging their unflinching support for the personnel. Items donated to the school include; Exercise books, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, school uniforms, eating bowls, napkins, plastic containers, clothing, and other educational stationary worth of Ghs3000(Three Thousand Ghana Cedis).
The president and leader of the donor team Mr. Michael Owusu Ansah also used the opportunity to thank all individuals and groups who supported the course in diverse ways. Other NASPA executives from different districts were present to support the Atwima-Nwabiagya service personnel at the occasion. They were the Offinso North district NASPA President, the Women's Commissioner for NASPA Offinso South district, the NASPA Atwima-Kwanwoma Women's Commissioner who is also the Women's Commissioner for NASPA-Ashanti region.
